Sounds of the Season
It’s the time of the year when families throughout the United States give and receive gifts as a form of love, appreciation, and gratitude. Regardless of the price tag, the size of the item, or the number of gifts you receive, it’s truly about putting a smile on each other’s faces.
For this festive holiday, families set up the Christmas tree and Christmas lights, bake cookies and set some aside for Santa along with milk, buy matching Christmas pajamas, watch movies, and (most importantly) listen to Christmas music.
Christmas music brings out the exhilarating mood and tone people should have during this beautiful holiday season. The sound of church bells ringing, groups of people singing Christmas carols, and having special television shows and movies spreads the Christmas spirit and sets the ideal mood.
Here are the three songs that bring out that rousing mood, as well as fun facts about each of them.
“Jingle Bell Rock” is claimed to have been written in 1957 by Bobby Helms; however, two men in advertising and public relations took credit for writing the song, though they never received credit.
“All I Want For Christmas Is You” has made Mariah Carey rich…more than 50 million dollars richer and is the 11th highest selling single of all time.
“Feliz Navidad” was written by Jose Feliciano in 1970 when he was homesick and living in New York City. It went viral…imagine that!
Whatever you are listening to this season, may your homes and hearts be filled with love, joy, laughter and, of course, music.
