Based on a survey that was completed by a total of 76 students and staff members combined, below are the movies that received the most votes and made it to the top 5:

1. Home Alone (1990)

Home Alone is a Christmas family comedy movie that will have everyone laughing. The movie is about the McCallister family leaving their son, Kevin McCallister, behind while they go on Christmas vacation in Paris. Kevin is left “Home Alone” and the house is visited by two burglars. What will an eight year old boy do to stop these burglars from ransacking his home? 

2. Titanic (1997)

Titanic is a Romance Drama that was created surrounding a real event that occurred on April 14, 1912, when a British passenger ship operated by the White Star Line sank in the North Atlantic Ocean. Not only does the movie incorporate historical facts, it also highlights the story between Jack and Rose who are from different social classes but somehow manage to make a romantic connection. Will they risk it all for love?

3. Fast and the Furious (2001)

The Fast and the Furious is an action movie that primarily involves street racing. It surrounds a specific group of street racers who are led by one of the main characters, Dom Toretto. A police officer is then sent undercover to investigate Dom and his crew. What will this police officer uncover during his investigation?

4. Love and Basketball (2000)

Love and Basketball is a sporty romance that follows the story of Quincey and Monica, next-door neighbors who both have a burning passion for pursuing a career in basketball. In addition to wanting to pursue the same career, they both have feelings for each other. Will they be able to juggle their feelings and their passion?

5. Boyz n the Hood (1991)

Boyz n the Hood is a crime drama that follows the story of three young men who are living in the “hood”.  Tre is sent to live with his father in the “hood”.  His father encourages him to not be like the other boys, while he instills good morals and values in Tre. On the other hand, two of Tre’s friends are going down a completely different path. How will their paths affect them and their relationship with Tre?
